Paris Air Show

2019 · USA Partnership Pavilion · Le Bourget, Paris

The Paris Air Show at Le Bourget is one of the most prestigious aerospace and defense events in the world, drawing heads of state, military delegations, aerospace executives, and international press to a single site for one week every two years. The USA Partnership Pavilion, representing American aerospace industry at the show, required a complete branded environment that could be easily recognizable on a stage of this scale.

Paris Air Show Meeting Point

The Challenge

Design a comprehensive suite of large-scale environmental graphics, print collateral, advertising, print publications, and promotional products for an international audience, all under a unified visual identity. The work had to communicate American aerospace leadership clearly and confidently to visitors from dozens of countries, while meeting the production specifications of a major international exhibition venue.

Responsibilites

As the lead designer at Kallman Worldwide, I was responsible for the full creative output for the USA Partnership Pavilion's Paris presence. This included large-scale environmental and booth graphics, design and stocking of the Pavilion Newsstand, sponsor and partner signage, podium and stage design, the Launchpad presentation space, back-lit displays, video content, and all wayfinding and meeting point installations across the pavilion footprint.

The Apollo Missions

Beyond the booth work, I also designed the official Apollo 50th Anniversary program, the Apollo Mission Crew Interviews booklet, and an Astronaut Al Worden scholarship campaign, all produced simultaneously for distribution at the show. Promotional products including a custom challenge coin and Endeavour Scholarship mission patch rounded out the full program.

The Newsstand

A key responsibility within the USA Partnership Pavilion was the oversight and management of the Newsstand, a physical publication and media hub within the pavilion which served press, industry professionals, and show attendees. Responsibilities included both the creative and operational dimensions of the space: designing and managing the physical layout and branded environment of the Newsstand itself, curating and organizing the publications on display, and serving as the primary point of contact for communication with publication representatives. I coordinated advertising placements within participating publications, managing relationships with editorial and advertising contacts, and ensuring the Newsstand functioned as a polished, well-stocked, and on-brand presence throughout the duration of the show. In addition, I created a video compilation about the show that was displayed on screen for the week.

What Was Created

A complete branded ecosystem including large-scale trade show graphics, stage and podium design, two commemorative publications, a multi-piece advertising campaign, infographics, social media content, and custom promotional products; all delivered to an international venue on a press-ready timeline.

Outcome

A cohesive, professional USA Partnership Pavilion presence at one of the world's most high-profile aerospace events, representing American industry to an international audience of thousands.
